Philosophy
I could photograph without meeting you prior to your wedding. However, that’s not how I want to photograph. I want to photograph your heart, your passion, and your love. And the only way I can do that is by listening to your story. As a result, a big part of my approach to photography is spending a lot of time getting to know you. I will send out a one too many questionnaires to get to know you, you will think it’s too much work, but this is the secret that brings your wedding photos from good to excellent. Though not perfection, we will leave the category of perfection to people’s taste and the nature of life. By the time we are all done with the album and wall art design, we may become pretty close, but we will leave that to the future us.
Approach
As many things in life, my approach to photographing a wedding or just about any session is a balance between candid and directions. I believe three elements that could really make any photo great are lights, location, and the subject. I direct you two to get the most out of the light and location, and let you two just enjoy is what I do. However, don’t worry. I do not like to be intrusive, organic moments are more important. Also as a story teller, I want every story told to be timeless, so even the style of photographs are often classic and timeless.
